Boobs, jugs, melons, fun bags – whatever you want to call them, it is a week to celebrate what they are really attached to us for!
From August 1st until the 7th the world recognises the importance of breastfeeding our babies – yadda yadda yadda… I could go on with writing about the importance of breastfeeding and how it is the most natural and wonderful thing you do with your baby, for physical, mental and bonding reasons… but I am here to celebrate one of the most amazing things about being a mum.

So let us raise our expressed milk bottles high and toast to:
All the wet milk patches on our clothes!
The occasional spray of milk in our hair / eye / mouth!
The cute milk drunk babies!
The milky vomit you are trying to get out of your blouse!
How good your boobs look when your baby hasn’t fed in a while!
How amazing Australia is, where you can be anywhere and whip a breast out to feed your baby!

One Response to HAPPY WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK!

  1. Gayle Elizabeth via Facebook says:

I remember once upon a time a young woman who said she would not breast feed. Family members would shake their heads in disbelief. Then the young woman grew up and realised a baby was the most important person in the world.

To women who do not want to breast feed because they ‘think’ it will ruin their breasts, after 25 everything starts heading downhill so don’t worry about it. I am 50, fed 3 babies, hate wearing a bra and everything is still where it should be.

Give it a go and if you are having problems feeding ring the Australian Breastfeeding Association http://www.breastfeeding.asn.au for support. They are ALL volunteers and mums just like you!
